Start with the intended application
HIFU stands for high-intensity focused ultrasound. It is an ultrasound technology, not a laser. When reviewing a quotation, check which applications and treatment areas are documented for that specific model and configuration.
A clinic sourcing facial equipment should assess the facial configuration. Do not assume that body or intimate applications offered on another platform also apply to the proposed machine. Similar names do not establish interchangeable uses.
Request four documents before deciding
A specification sheet identifying the model and applicators.
The operating manual, including warnings and maintenance instructions.
A list of included cartridges, compatibility details and replacement terms.
A written outline of training and technical support.
Check that all four refer to the same configuration. For an import project, have the responsible regulatory adviser review the documents required in the destination market. A certificate for a different device does not answer that question.
Look beyond the initial HIFU machine price
Ask for cartridge replacement prices and the conditions attached to any stated cartridge life. Confirm how the machine identifies a cartridge, displays its remaining capacity and reports faults. These details affect stock planning and day-to-day operation.
A distributor should establish whether accessories will remain available and what happens if a component is revised. Keep a record of model and cartridge identifiers so a replacement order can be matched correctly.
Is HIFU equivalent to a surgical facelift?
No. Ultrasound skin-tightening procedures and surgery have different limits. Suitability, expectations and risks need an individual clinical assessment; equipment names cannot predict a patient’s result.
Does a cartridge’s depth determine its use?
