Fractional CO2 Lasers: A Clinic’s Equipment Guide
A clinic buying a fractional CO2 laser needs to assess the scanner, operating modes and support as carefully as the quoted price. The equipment also has to fit the clinic’s capacity for patient assessment, training and follow-up.
What does “fractional” describe?
Fractional delivery treats a pattern of small areas, leaving tissue between them. It does not mean that resurfacing has no recovery period or that every patient can expect the same outcome.
Check the operating modes included in the proposed configuration. A platform may offer different accessories, but their applications need to be documented for that model. Do not assume that every CO2 laser supports every function listed in a category brochure.
What to request in the specification
- Laser source and output parameters, with clearly stated units.
- Scanner, available patterns and controls in the quoted configuration.
- Included accessories and their documented intended uses.
- Installation, protective measures and maintenance requirements.
- Training arrangements and documents for the destination market.
Request a demonstration of the controls and routine checks. For distributors, the service discussion should cover spare parts, fault diagnosis and the responsibilities of the local technical team. These details should appear in the commercial agreement.
CO2 laser downtime belongs in the clinical discussion
Resurfacing can involve recovery time and complications, including scarring. A day-by-day recovery schedule copied from another clinic is not a reliable promise to a new patient. The treating professional must explain the plan and aftercare for the individual case.
The AAD’s overview of skin tightening and resurfacing provides general context. It does not establish outcomes for a specific BDST Medical model.
Separate equipment costs from treatment pricing
An equipment budget includes configuration, delivery, installation and maintenance. A clinic’s treatment pricing also has to account for assessment, staff, materials and follow-up. Avoid estimating payback from a fully booked schedule that the clinic has not yet achieved.
Is CO2 interchangeable with Q-switched laser technology?
No. Review each module’s documented use separately. Our combined CO2 and Q-switched platform guide lists questions to ask.
What is the next step for a quotation?
Review our fractional CO2 laser equipment and send your country, clinic type and intended applications.
